Small Dog Advantages
There are lots of advantages on a small dog compared with a big sized dog. For a big dog you certainly need space at your home, most of the time a big garden, a good fence, daily walks and exercise. You have to watch out all the time if you have little children and so on. When all of this conditions are not ideal, it’s maybe better to take a small dog… My husband and I decided that one day when we own our own home we would get a dog. The problem is that I am pretty sure that he will want to get something like a golden retriever. Though I think they are great dogs, I will most likely want a small dog like the one that my mom has. I love my mom’s dog, and I can’t imagine having a huge dog running around my house. Though I think I would fall in love with any dog at first site, I do hope I can find a small one that we can all agree upon.
The small dog my mom has sits very easily in my lap, and she will sit there for hours if I am watching a movie with my parents. She is easy to deal with, and she doesn’t rip my arms off when I am taking her for a walk. Though for a small dog, she sure does have some strength when she is finally let outside. My mom has a bad back so she can’t take her out as often as she wants to. When she does get out, she goes nuts.
I think my husband likes my mom’s small dog, but I’m not sure he will agree when I tell him that I want us to get one. One of the biggest reasons I think it would be the best idea to get a small dog is because we have cats. My cats are not used to dogs, and I think they would be able to get used to a small dog a lot quicker than they would a larger dog. A large dog that runs around the house in great excitement might just be too much for them.
I may or may not get my small dog, but I think I will love any dog that we end up getting. I love my cats, but there is room in our family for a dog as well. My cats won’t like it, but they will just have to get used to it. Small dog or big dog, it doesn’t matter as long as we have one that we can love. My daughter is looking forward to the day that we can have a dog, and no matter what my husband or I think, she may end up being the her choice in the end. Who can tell a young girl now when a puppy steals her heart?
